Jambo!
You can say I loved my vacation that much because I haven't been traveling abroad for over a year and you even might partly be right. However, I think it was mostly due to fact that it exactly was the vacation we needed. Hakuna Matata, pole pole - both common phrases on Zanzibar coast. I think each and everyone of you know what Hakuna Matata means and I think you might even sing the song in your heart or at least picture Pumbaa and Timon in your head. It is an actual Swahili phrase and it is used a lot with tourists. 'Would you like *service name*?' - 'No thanks' - 'Hakuna Matata'; 'Could you serve my breakfast 15 minutes earlier?' - 'sure, hakuna matata'. Pole pole means slowly, no rush. It is widely use to describe the road situation or offer to take your time in the shop but it quickly became our lifestyle. I still have issues collecting myself to a city girl vibe without much of pole pole + hakuna matata approach. Bare with me. And disclaimer: I will be posting about Zanzibar A LOT.
My first post is nothing new to people who read my Instagram, I used this outfit and photos for my birthday post. (yes, I celebrated my birthday on a tropical island, which a marvel by itself!) Anyways, I wore simple outfits most of the time making up with because scenery where the diversity in my looks lacked. I wore simple top, new sunglasses (a hit, I literally had several offers to sell them) and travel short/pants (they have a zipper and transform into one other and also there are millions of pockets, just kidding, only 10 but it is a lot if you ask me). Sunglasses are from Glassesop again. It's my favorite online shop and a trusted working partner. It's been almost two years since we started working and I am always very much impressed with quality. Bonus points here for new style of the case: super fun. also I have a little treat for you GSHOT35: 35% off on the entire order(sale frames excluded).

Have a nice day,

Wow, awesome that you were able to travel now! How is the situation with Covid there? It all looks so dreamy, the beaches wonderful. And of course, you looks as splendid as usual! Well done for managing to go to such a dreamy destination!
ReplyDeletethey had around 500 cases over the whole pandemic story so it's pretty safe there. also we've traveled to a very peaceful spot (not crowded north), our hotel had 6 rooms only and there were very little (5 or 6) around us 3 km both ways. so few people and generally safe country or so it seems.
DeleteOh my goodness. That is so exciting that you were able to travel! It looks like an incredible place. I can't get over how picture perfect that sand is. Sigh! Your outfit is fabulous as well. You always look so stylish <3
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.

ReplyDeleteWow Zanzibar must be pretty cool travel destination, had only heard of it in my Geography class. The outfits are nice as well.
ReplyDelete'Pole, pole' is also a really popular phrase that you quickly learn when climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. The number of people that have to give up before reaching the summit due to altitude sickness is often related to the number of people that are trying to rush their climb. They keep reminding us to take things slowly using 'pole, pole' throughout the climb to hopefully improve our chances of success.
ReplyDeleteI like how spacious your photos are, I mean, it looked like your rented the whole place for yourselves lol Not much people around?

Deleteyes! we had a small (only 6 rooms in total) hotel, half of vacation it was occupied on half and last week we were completely alone. our hotel was in between on two villages 3 and 4 kilometers away so it was very peaceful with few people around
