How to keep your cool in the office

The Great British Heatwave is a memory we cling to throughout the dreary winter – and this summer, it's been even longer and hotter than any of us could have hoped. However, with the BBQs and garden parties of the weekend come the trials of the weekday existence as the mercury climbs into the high twenties. Office politics are tricky at the best of times, but the heat brings new problems.

What to wear?
It can be difficult dressing for work in the heat. If your commute leaves you drenched in sweat, bring a spare shirt to work. Sandals are fine in most offices and they beat ballet pumps, which often end up overheating feet and creating unpleasant odours!

A major heatwave issue is the air-conditioning; dressing for the baking hot outside and the fridge-cold temperatures inside is a problem many have to tackle during the summer months. Layering is key here – pair light short sleeve or sleeveless tops with cardigans that you can throw on when the air conditioning gets too chilly in the office.
Air con wars
It’s a fairly common experience for offices to be freezing cold at one end and blazing hot at the other - so there's no point complaining or arguing, because someone is always going to be uncomfortable. Instead, try and make it a little easier for yourself at whichever end of the office you’re sat – if it’s too hot, buy a small desktop fan and if it’s too cold, keep a cardigan or long sleeve top at work. You can find a great range of stylish long sleeve tops at isme.com.
Windows
Sitting right by a window that's catching the full glare of the sun is one of the fastest ways to get yourself uncomfortably hot. If you're fortunate enough to have a laptop or otherwise portable PC, retreat to one of the shadier corners of the office, or pull down the blinds if that's an option.

Lunch
This may be surprising, but it has been shown that salads and ice-cold smoothies are not actually what we should be consuming to keep our inner-body temperature down. Instead, hot and spicy food is the best option, as it encourages the brain to lower the body temperature – and hot drinks work in the same way.

Have a nice day,

  2. Good picks - I hate it when the air con is set to freeze and its hot out.
I'm lucky (or not depending on how you slice it) that I wear a uniform for work - and good thing because I'm a baker - dont wanna get my nice clothes covered in cake batter ;-)

Explore Starcon

I'm going to brake up vacation post series to share the Starcon experience. A week ago I was sitting on the same spot and getting ready to go. We've been to lovely Saint  Petersburgh. We managed to have a charming walk in the  evening even right after the con. Starcon was all about sci-fi and we loved it so much. We even wore the Jedi costumes (wait for them in the end of post). Max, my lovely husband, sewed them for only 3 days (that's why the design is so simple). and I also got 2d place in Star Wars Miniatures board game tournament took place there. I'm so happy! As for outfit - I've chosen a super comfy outfit with a very cool pants! I bought them on ebay and they are more than 20 year old pants (I guess soon they could buy booze on their own but I doubt I need it). I love them for their shape - keeping me cool during hot and warm when needed. Oh, and can I also call it my pijama pants trend pants? or not? What I also wanted to mention you are my fab set jewel

Say 'yes' to a dress with Yesbabyonline

When you start on inspiration posts it hard to spot. At least for me. I feel like I am half awake in my bed, feeling super lazy and have to strict plans for the morning so I am hitting the 'snooze' button. I almost hear myself saying 'five more minutes' and I do mean five more minutes but I fail and hit 'show me more' button. Inspiration from online shops devour me. Yes it is budget friendly (you don't need to buy things even though you do want to) but it is not safe for your time. I can't really say I am against it, it is a good to relax and is also useful if you need to wait for your partner to finish some stuff to do. This evening it works especially well because I am waiting for my husband to finish the page. I am more or less limited by time so my online inspiration will be most pleasing. As always I wanted to set up a topic to make it even better. My topic for today is long formal dresses . Out of tons of online shop I picked the best for me toda

МКММ + Couture Fashion Show

So! I am so very excited! I have visited my first real actual fashion show ever since March and I couldn’t ever be happier. It’s just wow! This time I visited MKMM final shows merged with Couture Fashion Show later that night. I had a chance to see many wonderful shows by young and talented designers and enjoyed it a lot. Creativity everywhere. Something is purely catwalk (and I totally don’t mind it at all), something that is very easy to imagine rushing the streets, something very creative and futuristic and making a statement with so much in between. Overall in love. I don’t think I really can be picky because after all those digital shows real made a huge impression on me. It almost as if I am visiting my first ever fashion show but better because I know what to expect. I think you are not reading this and already scrolled past this point and enjoy the contestants. And don’t blame you at all.  RU: Прекрасные новости! Мой первый настоящий офлайн показ с марта месяца. И он оказася пр
