Karelia, part one

I had a real deal vacation! I can't be more happy about it. I relaxed so much I am even tired and totally overwhelmed with emotions! Karelia is so beautiful, I want to come back there. The nature and history is beautiful. And the food was awesome too, just in case. Now I can say I love Karelia for everything good there is about it (including my own husband by the way).

It is the first post in series. It is about historical objects. Above you see my travel outfit and fortress Korela. Over the time of it's life (first known mention of the fortress is from 13th century) it was also named Kakisalmi (I love this one so much) and Kexholm. Current name Korela refers to name of nation lived there and other Finnish and Swedish name are connected to the cuckoo bird. It was said when Karelia people wanted to build the fortress they had a big misfortune and couldn't make it. So they prayed to their main God Ukko to help them and it was said that they have to go down by the river and found a fortress in the place where Cuckoo bird sings. It is said to be the origin of the fortress behind. Surely it looked differently back than, it was remodeled several times, the big round part is from early 16th century for example.

Next was Sortavala town. It was so beautiful! There old Finnish design house, magical fortune stone and the monument of Vainamoinen, the bard hero of Finnish-Karelian Kalevala (I was reading it on my way to Karelia to deep dive into it even more even though I knew most of the events from my husband retelling).

My outfit is travel failure. You see I have a cute bow on back (you don't see it). It is a horrible decision for a long ride, trust me. But I looked pretty so it's half ok, I guess. Check out my pendant too: it is a gift from my husband and is custom made just for me. It's pretty old already but I am always proud when I wear it.

I was wearing:
H&M top
Uniqlo pants
Adidas flip flops (do you also concider flip flops the comfortable choice for whatever?)
pendant handmade gift ordered and designed by my husband

Have a nice day,
Lyosha

  28. Oops on the outfit - I've made mistakes like that before! The last time that I decided to travel somewhere via bus, I wore an outfit that had a chain running along the back. While that was flat, and therefore wouldn't seem like a big deal, let me tell you how uncomfortable that is to sit against for any length of time... lol Your outfit does look great though! That's a positive!

The last day of Summer was the hottest in Moscow during the whole recorded time. I didn't fully enjoy it frankly having tons of things to do. And so I did with the first day of fall as well. I kinda wished I was myself on the photos below: chilling and relaxed on a boat.
Today I don't only want to show the wonderful idea of boat style transitioning outfit but also show you my new item. So if you happen to be on a boat take a cardigan. On water even slight wind might feel colder especially when fall is right there. however it might be good to swim or sunbath so you might want to wear a bikini. Light cardigan is on to go item for such moment: just throw it right onto your swimsuit and enjoy the comfort and beauty. This purple babe is from Dear Lover. The they both wholesale and retail options so you will definitely find what suits you best. There are tons of cardigans and it is a joy! I have to admit when I feel the breath of autumn I tend to look at all the cardigans out there.…

St. Petersburg

It's been a month since our vacation but I still haven't posted everything about it. Talking about crazy August that is. It's middle of September already but it did fly by. So much to catch up on. On the bright side we finished the big apt repairs and have extra spare time. Yay for anything. And we did actually get a lot of 'yays' last weekend. If you follow my Instagram you might already saw a night cycling race and a run in rural Serpukhov the next day. It was so awesome, I feel rebooted. As for my post today I am posting my outfit from my trip in August to St. Petersburg. Comfortable, casual look to explore and move around a lot. I've been to this city numerous times, I don't need a map unless I go somewhere exotic or want to know the exact amount of time to walk from A to B. It is always a huge joy to me to be there. Funny thing I disliked the city before my I met my husband and saw his home city with his eyes.

I don't know why but I do have a soft s…

When you grow up you want to be... an astronaut?

Who did you want to become when you were little? I bet a lot of you said Astronauts, I have friend who want to be alien when he grows up. I can't really say I am a grownup (not age wise for sure) but I am always curious about space. That is my little excuse to be posting this today: sharing my experience from Zvezdny Gorodok (or Star City) in Moscow region. It is a place established and opened by the famous Yury Gagarin (first man is space) and it still accommodates astronauts before and after they trips. For example not long before there were people from India there. And they also have a super interesting museum. People who work there are very passionate about their job so you don't need much to get them talking. I received a good story about salmon suit just because I stared at it longer than she thought uninterested person would do. It is intended for water but was never used as there never was a water landing case. Except of one time when two people landed on a lake in ear…
