Chichen Itza

Chichen Itza is an iconic Mayan city, the most famous of all Mayan ruins on Yukatan peninsula. Not only it is a very scientifically important sight, it is very popular with tourists. Having wonderful friends giving tips on making our trip perfect (and honestly, it worked like a charm), we visited Chichen Itza early. I don't only mean coming at the opening time but also it was our third day in the country (counting with arrival day, which was mostly evening for us). Being a very popular tourist attraction there are many people there literally all the time. It steals some charm so it's better to face audience when you are only getting a hold of historic tourism. Each and every other sight we visited (and we also visited Coba, Muyil and Tulum as well, I'll tell you all about it later on) was way more quiet and private, most of the time we felt alone with the stones (it is incredible!). Also Chichen Itza has built in market. I still don't know how I feel about it: partly it's distracting, partly charming and definitely noisy. Good news is this market offers good prices so you can feel free to bargain and get your souvenirs cheap and in between of looking at the ruined temples. I think being that populated and that famous makes Chichen Itza less impressive for many tourists, you might feel disappointed waiting for something with more magic. That is way we've been very grateful to our friends who pointed it out prior our trip. So we went there early making Chichen Itza not clouded with other impressions and didn't expect a miracle. And we loved it there.

Also we've noticed a part with observatory is way less crowed in Chichen Itza, you might want to go there if you feel tired of too many people around or take better photos. Surely the photos I show here don't do the historical sight justice. We did our best to take photos without other people. We chose spots we find better for it. And after all, seeing it with your own eyes makes the whole experience more vivid and proper than any photo or video can ever dare to give. However I am definitely posting the photos of it anyway.
And last but not least. My travel outfit. I wore shorts made from my transforming pants (tons can be found in Decathlon or similar places, check out hiking pants). These pants/shorts is probably the best travel purchase I ever made, so handy, comfy and save up tons of luggage space especially if you travel from cold to warmth. I find baseball cap a necessity for active outdoor strolling. It helps you to protect yourself from the sun, occasional rain and other small inconveniences like small parts of the trees in your hair (might not be an issue if you have straight hair like I do but could be very uncomfortable with curls). I go with flip flops almost everywhere but I did wear sneakers to different ruins where I could climb up for more stability. Sunglasses are very useful too, after all you can't wait for sun to be proprly positioned to enjoy the views). A comfy backpack is not a burden for me too. It helps me to hold water, camera case and camera accessories, sunscreen (don't forget to reapply it ever so often), spare masks, sanitizer,  a snack or extra clothes if needed (for example swim suits for cenotes to relax and enjoy yourselves after the sightseeing; Tip: leave it in the car if you rent one, you can't use it in Chichen Itza, the cenote is present there but is not open for you to interact with). You don't see it on photos but you are required to wear mask at all times in historic sights of Mexico. I took it off for a quick photo only. (and it makes perfect sense in Chitchen Itza since it's very crowded and you need to be extra careful)

I was wearing:
Befree llama yoga top
Fila Flip Flops
shorts (also pants) and backpack from decathlon

Have a nice day,
Lyosha

    1. pretty average. Masking all the way, sanitizing hands is mandatory when entering whatever, some place also have a sanitizer filled mat for you to step on in shoes. they didn't ask for additional test for all arriving passengers (there might be random tests though) but you have to fill in the form online right before your flight both ways.

  14. I am really hoping to get to Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula in mid 2022 and exploring Chichen Itza is something my fiance and I are definitely interested in doing. Love your tip about getting there early to avoid the crowds and I certainly hope the COVID situation has improved by then. You take great photos and as usual wear cool outfits for your travels.

Explore Starcon

I'm going to brake up vacation post series to share the Starcon experience. A week ago I was sitting on the same spot and getting ready to go. We've been to lovely Saint  Petersburgh. We managed to have a charming walk in the  evening even right after the con. Starcon was all about sci-fi and we loved it so much. We even wore the Jedi costumes (wait for them in the end of post). Max, my lovely husband, sewed them for only 3 days (that's why the design is so simple). and I also got 2d place in Star Wars Miniatures board game tournament took place there. I'm so happy! As for outfit - I've chosen a super comfy outfit with a very cool pants! I bought them on ebay and they are more than 20 year old pants (I guess soon they could buy booze on their own but I doubt I need it). I love them for their shape - keeping me cool during hot and warm when needed. Oh, and can I also call it my pijama pants trend pants? or not? What I also wanted to mention you are my fab set jewel

Say 'yes' to a dress with Yesbabyonline

When you start on inspiration posts it hard to spot. At least for me. I feel like I am half awake in my bed, feeling super lazy and have to strict plans for the morning so I am hitting the 'snooze' button. I almost hear myself saying 'five more minutes' and I do mean five more minutes but I fail and hit 'show me more' button. Inspiration from online shops devour me. Yes it is budget friendly (you don't need to buy things even though you do want to) but it is not safe for your time. I can't really say I am against it, it is a good to relax and is also useful if you need to wait for your partner to finish some stuff to do. This evening it works especially well because I am waiting for my husband to finish the page. I am more or less limited by time so my online inspiration will be most pleasing. As always I wanted to set up a topic to make it even better. My topic for today is long formal dresses . Out of tons of online shop I picked the best for me toda

МКММ + Couture Fashion Show

So! I am so very excited! I have visited my first real actual fashion show ever since March and I couldn’t ever be happier. It’s just wow! This time I visited MKMM final shows merged with Couture Fashion Show later that night. I had a chance to see many wonderful shows by young and talented designers and enjoyed it a lot. Creativity everywhere. Something is purely catwalk (and I totally don’t mind it at all), something that is very easy to imagine rushing the streets, something very creative and futuristic and making a statement with so much in between. Overall in love. I don’t think I really can be picky because after all those digital shows real made a huge impression on me. It almost as if I am visiting my first ever fashion show but better because I know what to expect. I think you are not reading this and already scrolled past this point and enjoy the contestants. And don’t blame you at all.  RU: Прекрасные новости! Мой первый настоящий офлайн показ с марта месяца. И он оказася пр
