Kostroma

Running tourism is probably my favorite, at least lately. I really enjoy walking around the town and running these same streets as well. Running and walking makes a new perspective and I can also mention cycling through the streets feels different as well. This time we were not alone but accompanied with our friend who chose this town to run their first ever half. They did just fine and I am proud of them. I was waiting for them on the finish line and felt so amazing seeing them all happily crossing the line. The track is very flat and I enjoyed it a lot. Also the organizers of this run are one of my personal favorites, they always are super attentive and fun.

Kostroma is known is cheese capital of Russia but I wouldn't be proud of that name, really because cheese in Russia is not something to be proud of at least a little. It is also a town closely tied with Ostrovsky, one of grand classic writers of Russia. River Volga divides on two halves with one being historical and other is mostly living places. As usual for many towns of Russia there are many cute, quaint and also quite pompous churches and cathedrals but a number of old houses and buildings also left. I was in love with wooden window trims. If you are ever in Russia pay attention to the old houses, most of them have curious window trims (I do hope I am using the proper term here, by the way), it was the way people made their place more beautiful and people were proud of this little details.

As usual after a long run I wore a dress. I don't know why but I love it when my legs are free so I almost never wear pants or shorts after a long run. This one is pretty old but it's very comfortable and the color makes it very easy to see me on the street. A very useful feat if you ask me, because I wanted to see my friends after the run and it was not that easy to find each other

I was wearing:
Topshop dress (very old)
same old Adidas flip flops

Oyosho shorts
Asics Noosa FF
Cep socks and gaiters
themed t-shirts of the run

Have a nice day,
Lyosha

  1. Yay, I am happy that you finished a half marathon. I can't even do that well. Kostroma seems like a idyllic place with lots of nice views. I wonder what kind of cheese and restaurants that relate to cheese that I can find in Kostroma.

  3. I haven't heard the term 'running tourism' before but what a good way to visit and get around such lovely places. Looking at your photos, Kostroma looks like such a gorgeous place for the four of you to spend time. I would love to visit Russia one day and in particular the smaller, beautiful towns like this one.

    1. it's when you travel somewhere for a run. so you get to check out the museums, sightseeing etc and also run. it actually shift perspective, because you get to run on the streets after you walked there and the place looks totally different. Also it gives you extra motivation to visit smaller place, you might otherwise feel too lazy to visit at all. It's pretty popular in Europe and started being a thing in Russia may be five years back

    1. I didn't actually take photos of the cheese there. It looks just like any other cheese. Their trademark is semi-hard cheese with smallish holes, named after the town. They have nice young soft cheeses as well like Valencay for example, it taste a lot like original

  24. Kostroma looks like such a lovely city to visit and spend some time. It is funny how things look different when you're walking or running. I think the same thing about day and night. Like I can almost get lost if I'm only familiar with a place in the day time and going at night. Your dress is lovely, and such a vibrant color!

Explore Starcon

I'm going to brake up vacation post series to share the Starcon experience. A week ago I was sitting on the same spot and getting ready to go. We've been to lovely Saint  Petersburgh. We managed to have a charming walk in the  evening even right after the con. Starcon was all about sci-fi and we loved it so much. We even wore the Jedi costumes (wait for them in the end of post). Max, my lovely husband, sewed them for only 3 days (that's why the design is so simple). and I also got 2d place in Star Wars Miniatures board game tournament took place there. I'm so happy! As for outfit - I've chosen a super comfy outfit with a very cool pants! I bought them on ebay and they are more than 20 year old pants (I guess soon they could buy booze on their own but I doubt I need it). I love them for their shape - keeping me cool during hot and warm when needed. Oh, and can I also call it my pijama pants trend pants? or not? What I also wanted to mention you are my fab set jewel

Say 'yes' to a dress with Yesbabyonline

When you start on inspiration posts it hard to spot. At least for me. I feel like I am half awake in my bed, feeling super lazy and have to strict plans for the morning so I am hitting the 'snooze' button. I almost hear myself saying 'five more minutes' and I do mean five more minutes but I fail and hit 'show me more' button. Inspiration from online shops devour me. Yes it is budget friendly (you don't need to buy things even though you do want to) but it is not safe for your time. I can't really say I am against it, it is a good to relax and is also useful if you need to wait for your partner to finish some stuff to do. This evening it works especially well because I am waiting for my husband to finish the page. I am more or less limited by time so my online inspiration will be most pleasing. As always I wanted to set up a topic to make it even better. My topic for today is long formal dresses . Out of tons of online shop I picked the best for me toda

МКММ + Couture Fashion Show

So! I am so very excited! I have visited my first real actual fashion show ever since March and I couldn’t ever be happier. It’s just wow! This time I visited MKMM final shows merged with Couture Fashion Show later that night. I had a chance to see many wonderful shows by young and talented designers and enjoyed it a lot. Creativity everywhere. Something is purely catwalk (and I totally don’t mind it at all), something that is very easy to imagine rushing the streets, something very creative and futuristic and making a statement with so much in between. Overall in love. I don’t think I really can be picky because after all those digital shows real made a huge impression on me. It almost as if I am visiting my first ever fashion show but better because I know what to expect. I think you are not reading this and already scrolled past this point and enjoy the contestants. And don’t blame you at all.  RU: Прекрасные новости! Мой первый настоящий офлайн показ с марта месяца. И он оказася пр
